- Most systems running DOS, WFWG311, and Win95 (or older Windows with
- replacement comm driver) have no problem running 115kbps (which is the max for
- the USR) with a plain old 16550 class UART. There is considerable question
- whether 115 contributes much (compared to 57.6) to throughput speed--thos this
- is a bit of a religious issue.

- The only reason I can see for the ESP type card is if your 16550 won't work
- reliably at 115kbps, AND your modem traffic is of the fairly unusual type that
- benefits significantly from the faster serial rate.
